App Terms of Service
Terms for the Rebuilding Faith Journal App
Welcome Aboard!
Thanks for choosing Rebuilding Faith. These Terms of Service ('Terms') form the agreement between you and Rebuilding Faith LLC ('Rebuilding Faith', 'we', 'our', or 'us') for using our Bible study and journaling tools (the 'Service').
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to follow these Terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the app.
What the App Does
The Service helps you read Scripture, create journal entries, and explore licensed resources like Strong's numbers and cross-references.
The app includes offline capabilities that automatically sync your content when you reconnect to the internet. To help you continue your work seamlessly across devices, we store up to 30 days of activity showing which notes, scriptures, and Strong's dictionary entries you've accessed. This data is yours—we don't analyze it or sell it—and is described further in our Privacy Policy.
We may update, improve, or retire features at any time. When changes affect your experience, we will provide in-app notice whenever we reasonably can.
Who Can Use the App
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your region) to create an account. If you're between 13 and 18, a parent or legal guardian should review these Terms with you.
Using the app on behalf of a church or organization? Make sure you have authority to accept these Terms for that group and to grant us permission to process content on its behalf.
Subscriptions & Payment
Currently, the Service is free while we finalize subscription plans. Core Bible reading and study tools will remain free for everyone.
Once subscriptions launch, paid tiers may offer enhanced features like expanded note-taking, advanced study tools, and additional storage. We'll notify you in advance before charging any fees.
Subscriptions will be billed monthly or annually (your choice) and automatically renew unless you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period—you retain access to paid features until then.
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 30 days of purchase. Contact us at support@rebuildingfaith.org if you believe you're entitled to a refund. If you cancel mid-cycle, you keep access through the end of your billing period but will not receive a prorated refund unless required by law.
If payment fails or your subscription lapses, you'll retain access to free-tier features. Your content and notes remain safe and accessible—we never delete your data due to non-payment.
Your Account
Keep your sign-in information secure and accurate. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account, so please protect your credentials and let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may request updates or verification details to safeguard the community and comply with applicable laws.
Your Content, Your Rules
Your journal entries, notes, and other materials ('User Content') always belong to you. You grant us a limited license to host, back up, and process that content so the Service can function (syncing, search, display, etc.).
You control your data—you can edit, export, or delete entries at any time. Exports are provided in Markdown format and include your notes, highlights, and metadata. Removing your content or account will remove it from our live systems within 30-45 days, aside from backups on normal rotation and legal obligations.
Some resources in the app are provided under third-party or open licenses. See the Credits page for details and attribution requirements.
Community Guidelines
Your journal entries and notes are private. Future updates may include optional community features for sharing content with other users.
Treat others with respect. Do not upload content that is unlawful, hateful, infringing, deceptive, or harmful.
Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the Service, and do not use automated tools to access it without our permission.
We may remove content or suspend access when necessary to protect the community, comply with legal requirements, or enforce these Terms.
Intellectual Property & Copyright
All trademarks, logos, and software that ship with the Service belong to Rebuilding Faith or our partners. You're welcome to use the app, but you may not copy or resell it without written approval.
Licensed resources such as Strong's Concordance, cross-references, and other study tools are provided for personal use within the app. When you export your notes, the third-party content embedded in your exports remains subject to the original licenses. Please review the Credits page within the app for attribution requirements and usage restrictions.
Your own journal entries and notes are yours to use, share, or republish as you wish. However, be mindful of third-party content (verses, dictionary entries, etc.) when sharing outside the app.
If you believe something in the Service infringes your copyright, email a detailed notice to support@rebuildingfaith.org. We'll review promptly and respond under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar global frameworks.
Privacy and Promises
We only collect the information needed to run the Service—account details, your content, and limited diagnostics.
We do not sell your personal data, run ads, or use third-party trackers. Review our Privacy Policy for a deeper look at what we collect, why, and how to exercise your rights.
Security, Accessibility & Safety
All web traffic runs over HTTPS, and mobile apps rely on secure platform storage. Even so, no system is 100% secure—please keep backups of anything mission-critical.
We aim to support accessible experiences and welcome feedback. Let us know at support@rebuildingfaith.org if you encounter barriers so we can improve quickly.
Mobile Apps & Platform Terms
When you use our mobile apps on iOS or Android, you also agree to your platform provider's terms (Apple App Store, Google Play Store). Those platform terms govern app downloads, updates, and in-app purchases.
Mobile features may request device permissions—for example, microphone access for dictation or storage access for offline sync. You can manage these permissions in your device's system settings at any time.
Platform-specific policies or restrictions may limit certain features. We'll do our best to provide a consistent experience across all platforms.
Ending Things
You can delete your account in settings. We'll remove your User Content from active systems within 30-45 days, except where we must keep limited records for security, backups, or legal compliance.
We may suspend or close your account if you violate these Terms, use the Service in unsafe ways, or when required by law. We'll let you know why whenever we can.
Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided 'as is' and 'as available.' We strive for reliability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure operation.
Rebuilding Faith is not providing legal, medical, financial, or professional counseling. Scripture tools are for inspiration and personal study—use your own judgment.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Rebuilding Faith and its partners are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (if any) or USD $50.
Resolving Issues
If something goes wrong, contact us first at troy@rebuildingfaith.org so we can work toward a solution together.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that we cannot resolve informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas.
Updates and Contact
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We'll post changes in the app, update the effective date below, and, when changes are significant, provide direct notice. Continuing to use the Service after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
Effective Date: October 16, 2024
