The Talmid Method
A talmid (תַּלְמִיד) was not just a student. He was an apprentice of someone’s life—following closely, watching carefully, letting the rabbi’s way of seeing reshape everything about him. Every student would become as His teacher is.
When Jesus came, everything changed. He was taught by God. Every morning, God would teach Him, and He would bring this living water to those who were thirsty so that they may never thirst again.
Jesus died for this — so that everyone could be taught by God. That we could drink of His words that are Spirit and life. That we would sit at His feet, hear His voice, and share what we receive with others who are weary.
This isn’t a solo practice. We must do this together, as a church, as the body of Christ, until we all come to the unity of the faith, unto the very image of Christ.

Receive
We all need encouragement. Your church, your family, your friends, the heroes of faith who came before — all are there to strengthen you. We are taught by God, but we also hear His voice speaking through one another. We need each other.

Daily Bread
Fresh manna. Every morning.

Read the Word — slowly, not for information, but listening for a word or phrase that stirs you.

Meditate and journal — Ruminate. Turn it over. Journaling is how you slow down enough to actually listen. When you’re ready to write, you’re ready to hear.

Pray — not a new prayer topic, but a direct response to what surfaced.
4.
Contemplate — Rest in God’s presence. Stop talking. Simply be with Him in the stillness.
This Word is not only logos — fixed on the page. It is rhema — spoken, living, personal. A conversation. And it is this Word, received and held, that transforms you into His likeness.

Understand
Remember what He has taught. Remember His Word, His miracles, what He has shown you. The enemy comes to steal the word from those who have no understanding — but the more faithfully you remember, the more truth compounds into something you can stand on, teach from, and pass on.

Share Living Water
The light was not meant to be under a bushel, but to be shared. The living water was intended to be shared. This is how we produce fruit that endures for eternity. This isn’t just for those who believe, but for the lost sheep who do not yet believe.
You will notice that when you share living water, how the countenance lifts, how peace and joy reside in the hearers, and how the dust of the world washes off, how we are transformed into His likeness, without spot or blemish.
This is how we love one another. This is how the church becomes one. This is how we prepare for His return.
The internet has broken down local community, replacing depth with counts. We want to restore what was lost — not with another feed, but with the kind of connection where people know your struggle and share your victories.
